One of our goals is to enable and equip the church to participate missionally in directly touching the lives of orphans and widows. We therefore offer opportunities for groups to serve on short-term mission trips at La Providencia in Siguatepeque, Honduras (about 2-hours drive from the capital city of Tegucigalpa, which is about a 2 ½-hour flight from Houston, Texas or Miami, Florida). During a visit to La Providencia, groups experience firsthand the joy and wonder of effectively serving in a cross-cultural environment. Our aim and hope is that everyone who serves on a ministry/work team will be afforded the chance not only to serve, but also to be impacted in a significant and lasting way.
Planning a short-term mission trip can be a daunting and even overwhelming task. We will work with you to not only help plan for the many logistical details of your trip, but also to structure the trip in such a way that your ministry goals as a group are achieved. The climate in Honduras is temperate, so any time of year is a great time of year to visit!
