Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

 

After almost seven years of fervent prayer, hard work from faithful servants, and of course the Lord's providential hand, we received our first orphan. This long awaited moment came just one day after the Zapata family, our first host family, moved into the first family home on December 6th. On the 7th, we received our first orphan, Kenneth Josue (Joshua), as he was named by the Zapata family.

Alfredo Cerrato commented, "I know you all have been working hard to have this day happen and we can now say we are in operation. I pray that [everyone] will feel the same level of satisfaction as our Lord smiles upon this moment as I have these past few days...What a blessing this week has been." Kenneth Josue had a cleft lip and palate when he arrived. Thankfully in March, he had the first of several surgeries to correct this problem.

In the next few months we welcomed two new orphans to our family, Douglas and Felix Jair.
